El Salvador: Behind the veil of popularity: Repression and regression of human rights in El Salvador
This report is the result of three fact-finding missions and 83 interviews, which document the installation of a context marked by the deepening of a punitive and repressive approach to public security; the adoption of a legal framework that compromises due process; the systematic use of torture and other ill-treatment against persons deprived of their liberty in prisons; and the deployment of a series of governmental actions that restrict civic space.
